Get Your Hope Back! 2 Promises of Hope in Times of Adversity and Struggle

Life is filled with challenges and hardships that can leave us feeling hopeless and defeated. However, the promises of the Bible offer a glimmer of hope even in the midst of adversity. They remind us that our trials are temporary and that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
One of the most powerful promises of the Bible is found in Jeremiah 29:11, which states, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This promise reassures us that no matter what we may be facing, God has a plan for our lives that is filled with hope and purpose.
Another promise that brings hope in times of struggle is found in Romans 8:28, which says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This verse reminds us that even in the midst of our trials, God can bring beauty from ashes and work all things together for our good.
In addition to these promises, the Bible is filled with stories of individuals who overcame incredible adversity with the help of God's promises. From Joseph, who went from being sold into slavery to becoming a ruler in Egypt, to David, who faced countless trials before becoming king, these stories serve as a testament to the power of hope in the face of adversity.
I too have faced adversity such as when I lost my job after over 20 years of being there. I was devastated and had no clue how I was going to make it. My routine after several years was changed. What was I going to do now? The interview process was different - what in the world was behavior type questions and what happened to the time when it was a simple interview where they ask you a few questions about your experience and you were done - period! I prayed to God to help me and had to lean and depend on the promises of God to bring me through it. And he did just that, he led me to the library where I checked out books and studied how to interview with the behavior type questions and before you knew God had led me to an even better job and I was so grateful to God for helping me. Won't He Do It!
I realized through the word of God that he has a plan for me like the word of God states in Jeremiah 29:11 and whatever it is that it is filled with hope, love and purpose. I had to know that all things were going to work together for me like in Romans 8:28 states no matter what my situation looked like. God can bring beauty from ashes and his word reassured me that I was going to be okay.
My hope in God had to be reignited through his word. If God made a way for the many people in the bible, I knew somehow, someway that he would make a way for me. I just had to hope and trust in Him and his word and wait on my change to come. Eventually, in God's timing, I knew that he would bring me through the adversity and the struggle that I was facing and bring be out on the other side better than when those challenges started. I have breaking news - God will do the same for you!
Rest and Trust in the promises of God to get you through adversity and struggles – he never disappoints. Amen!
